If you have a PlayStation Plus subscription of any tier and you have not claimed August's monthly games, you have until 31 August and then they are gone.
The three titles:
Dying Light 2 Stay Human: Reloaded Edition — Techland's 2022 open-world zombie parkour sequel, in the Reloaded package that includes the Bloody Ties story DLC. Enormous, and the traversal is still the best thing about it.
Big Walk — a co-operative multiplayer adventure from House House, the studio behind Untitled Goose Game, arriving on PS Plus day one. Day-one additions to the monthly lineup are rare and this is the one most worth your attention, because it is the only game here you could not have picked up cheap years ago.
Signalis — a 2022 isometric sci-fi survival horror in the Resident Evil mould. Small, dense, genuinely excellent, and the sort of thing that gets overlooked in a lineup next to a game with "open world" attached to it. Do not overlook it.
Claim them even if you will not play them
This is the part people get wrong every single month, so it bears repeating.
Claiming is not installing. It takes seconds, needs no storage, and can be done from a phone browser or the PlayStation App without touching your console. Once claimed, the game is attached to your account and stays available for as long as you maintain an active PS Plus subscription — not just for August.
Skip the claim and the game is simply gone from your options at the end of the month. There is no retroactive claiming, no grace period, and no way to get it back short of buying it.
The rule is: claim everything, every month, always. Decide later whether you care.
The catch worth knowing
Monthly games are tied to your subscription remaining active. If your PS Plus lapses, you lose access to claimed monthly games until you resubscribe — at which point they return.
That is different from how the Game Catalog works on Extra and Premium, where titles rotate out on Sony's schedule regardless of your subscription status. If the distinction is not clear to you, PS Plus Game Catalog vs monthly games breaks it down, and how PS Plus monthly games work covers the mechanics in full.
For trophy hunters
Three claimable trophy lists at no marginal cost, and the calculus is different from a normal player's.
Signalis is the pick. It is short enough to complete in a weekend, has a well-regarded list, and its completion rate is low enough that the trophies carry real rarity weight. Dying Light 2 is the opposite — a long, grind-heavy list attached to a very large game, worth starting only if you intend to live in it. Big Walk is co-operative, which means its list may require a second player, so read it before committing.
Claim all three regardless. A claimed monthly game does not expire out from under you mid-completion the way a catalog title does — see what happens to your trophies when a game leaves PS Plus for why that difference matters more than it sounds.
One note on the timing
There is an organised PlayStation boycott running this week that asks participants not to log in. If you are taking part, be aware that the claim deadline does not pause for it, and that claiming costs Sony nothing you are trying to withhold — it is not a purchase. Your call, but worth knowing the deadline is real.
Verified 26 August 2026. Claim window runs 4 August to 31 August 2026.
